UniTiAg Demo Version

Read how to use UniTiAg Demo version. step by step.

  1. Create an account. The demo version is simplified. The account is combined UniTiAg / TA account with a singe OTRB.
  2.  Bind your OTRB with one of your NFC credit, debit, or bank cards.
    • You will be asked to provide your card number. The Demo version does not store your card number, it stores only two last digits of it for your later reference.
    • The Demo version irreversibly converts your card number to a hash token which is used across the system. Real UniTiAg uses more reliable card number tokenization method.
    • The Demo version is tested with the following types of contactless cards: Visa, Mastercard, Interac (Canadian debit cards), and eftpos (Australian debit and credit cards). The card can be one of your actual contactless cards. It can even be an expired card.
    • The Demo version does not ask you to enter either of the following: card expiration date, card security code, cardholder name, or billing address.
    • The Demo version asks you  to enter so called “demopass”. It is required to prevent online attacks during demo account creation. To obtain it, please contact us.
  3. As an option, you can use a smartphone or a watch with Google or Apple Wallet instead of your plastic card. Though it is not very easy in the Demo version, the real version does not have this friction.
    • You need to obtain your Wallet card DPAN. You can do this using, for example  our Android app NFC EMV Explorer.
    • You need to configure DPAN, not your plastic card number, in the Demo OTRB account.
  4. “Top-up” your OTRB account with some “money”.
    • You will be presented with a “payment” page for that. The payment is not real. You can “use” many means of “payment”, such as the card associated with your account, Pay-Pall, direct banking, other credit cards, etc.
  5. Less than a minute later, you can grab your card, and “board a bus”.
  6. The demo bus Validator (a device where you can tap your card) is implemented on Android platform with NFC capabilities.
    • You need one or several Android phones to emulate Validators.
    • You can download Demo Transit Validator app from Google Store.
    • You can configure each your Demo Transit Validator app on each Android device for transfer discounts, loyalty discount, route number, bus number, fare amount, etc. You can configure either flat fares or distance-based fares (tap-on / tap-off).
    • You need to contact us in order to get the API access password (Validator Pass) and configure it in your Demo Transit Validators.
  7. What happens when you tap your card at the Demo Transit Validators? You will see that the bus fare amount is subtracted from your OTRB, and you will be granted the ride, if your OTRB is high enough. While you are enjoying your demo ride, the information about your OTRB is propagated among other Demo Transit Validators (in less than a minute) and all of them will be ready to accept your card when you transfer to another bus.
  8. At any time, you can login to your Demo OTRB account, add more “money” to it, change the card associated with the account, or observe your transaction history. You can do this from any Internet browser, including your smartphone.
